There are PhD programs in Soil Mechanics and Hydraulics in this college.Assam Engineering College was established in 1955, the first undergraduate engineering college in North-Eastern India.Currently, it awards bachelor’s degrees in eight engineering disciplines and master’s degrees in Computer Applications, Civil Engineering and Industrial and Production Engineering. It started with Civil Engineering, and within a few years other departments came into existence.

It is one of the most prestigious exams in the state of Assam. It is conducted at the state level and not on the national level. But despite this fact, it is a great platform for students who want to go further with their studies in medical stream or in the engineering field. This exam is conducted for MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/BE/B.Tech Admission.
CEE is basically the short term used for Combined Entrance Exam or Common Entrance Test.
The eligible candidates can apply for the entrance exam but make sure that you’ve read all the criteria and then, you go for filling the application form.
For the year 2017, the exam date or the application forms haven’t been officially announced but once they are, you can get the application forms from the official website of Assam CEE.

Assam CEE Eligibility Criteria 2017

For MBBS/BDS Course :
-The candidates including sons/daughters of officers of All India Services must study in classes VI to X in the state of Assam and must pass the HSLC examination or equivalent to it conducted by the state board or any recognizable board.

The candidate must pass in all the four major subjects in the qualifying examination. The candidate should also have obtained a minimum of 60% marks in the qualifying examination.For reserved categories, the same percentage has been decreased to 50%.

Age Limit : The age of the applicant or the candidate shouldn’t be below 17 years and shouldn’t be more than 24 years.
The maximum age limit is relaxable by 3 years in case of the reserved categories.

For BAMS Course :
-The candidate seeking admission in BAMS should’ve passed the qualifying examination with the subjects Physics,Chemistry Biology and English.
-Applicants must have obtained minimum 60% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Candidates who belong to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC category are required to obtained minimum 50% in 12th examination to be eligible to apply for Assam CEE Medical 2016.
